Assembly is looking for a Media Planning Consultant (Freelance) to work on our Political Media team. The planner will be responsible for plan development for assigned account(s). This contract will be from April through election season in November.

Since ASM’s Political team is so dynamic, its team members must be extremely flexible and able to lead their clients in a fast-paced environment where the ability to pivot & juggle many tasks at once is required. An interest in current events and US politics is preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of the client’s business and the consumer / voter journey
  • Assist the team in development of integrated media plan options and recommendations (digital & offline)
  • Maintain accurate budget control of flowcharts and documents (i.e., client payments, vendor invoices, buy sheets)
  • Demonstrate sound knowledge of digital media fundamentals, including media math, target audience development and communication goals (reach/ frequency / impressions)
  • Proficiency with syndicated media systems such as Telmar (MRI-Simmons, Scarborough), and MediaOcean (Prisma, OX), and a solid understanding of Microsoft Excel
  • Ensure proper execution of digital media plans by monitoring schedules & reporting results
  • Exhibit creativity & agility when problem solving
  • Seek out new opportunities, collaborate with investment teams on creative media activations, and author idea centric briefs for partners (internal and external)
  • Charismatic presentation (storytelling) of work to internal and external constituents
  • Analyzing the results and making optimization recommendations while the media is live and using empirical data to improve results for the next buying cycles
  • Having clear and technical knowledge of tactic strengths and weaknesses
  • Ensure that campaigns launch on schedule and are fully executed according to the insertion orders
  • Assist with documenting, updating and maintaining traffic sheets, trafficking and other digital workflow processes
  • Guide digital performance media set-up and activation to achieve client goals and KPIs
  • Synthesize media data to guide optimizations and inform media performance story

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of media planning experience
  • Solid research and analytical skills, good mathematical aptitude and attention to detail
  • Familiarity with variety of media tools and software
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, work well under pressure with multiple assignments; meet tight deadlines and multi-task
  • Strong sense of teamwork and collaboration
  • Excellent written / verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills
  • Strong relationship building skills
  • Digital media expertise

In order to comply with equal pay and salary transparency laws in various locations, we believe the target range of monthly compensation in all locations within the United States for this role is $7000-8000/month USD. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and location.
