Introduction

Are you a vocational (MBO) or a bachelor/HBO student with an affinity with IT, with strong communication skills? Are you tech-savy? If yes, this apprentice internship in our Customer Support department could be relevant for you!

Background information

The Digital Platform team, within the Customer Support sector of ASML, is responsible for preparing ASML's (future) customers for the installation and maintenance of the Virtual Compute Platform (VCP). The VCP is installed on the customers IT infrastructure and enables large ASML software applications to be used by our customer to run their production fabs.

Your assignment

As an intern, your main responsibility will be to support the team deploying the VCP and own the technical calculations to support that deployment. You will work together with a team of 3 IT engineers to support our customers in preparing their IT infrastructure. Typical work includes:

  • Understanding the amount of resources required (CPU, RAM, disk, #VMs) to run a VCP (customer use case dependent);

  • Determining exact hardware needs for our customers based on resources required;

  • Validating adequate data center set-ups at our customer sites;

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to realize a successful installation including, from Veldhoven (development team and rest of customer support colleagues) to the Worldwide offices (with opportunities to gain valuable experience interfacing different cultures).

Your profile

To be the perfect match for this internship, you:

  • Are a vocational (MBO) or bachelor/HBO student with a strong affinity for IT;

  • Have basic IT knowledge: understand networking set-ups, security, hardware (i.e. storage, compute) and virtualization (i.e. VMware);

  • Have strong communication skills: be able to articulate problems, collaborate within a team, outspoken and doesn’t hesitate to ask for help or questions;

  • Are able to complete individual but also team tasks, are organized and able to document your work.

This is an apprentice internship (non-thesis) for minimum 4 months, with the days per week to be discussed. The start date is as of September 2024.

Please note that we can only consider students who are enrolled at a school for the entire duration of the internship.

This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
