Your Role:
- Develop and lead the organization’s data governance strategy, roadmap, and maturity model.
- Establish enterprise data governance policies, standards, and operating frameworks.
- Partner with executives, data owners, and SMEs to define governance priorities, value drivers, and decision-making authority.
- Build and mentor a data governance community including stewards, custodians, and business/data SMEs.
- Drive cross-functional alignment and stakeholder engagement for unified data architecture.
- Lead vendor assessments and tool evaluations for data cataloging, metadata management, lineage, and data quality platforms.
- Oversee tool implementation and integration with source systems, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), and analytics environments.
- Configure and govern cataloging platforms (Collibra, Alation, Informatica EDC, Purview, Glue Data Catalog, etc.).
- Enable data discovery, data lineage visibility, business glossaries, and steward workflows.
- Ensure consistent metadata capture across ETL pipelines, data lakes, and data warehouses
- Install, configure, test, maintain, and debug data management software, systems, and associated capabilities specifically dealing with data governance and related persona user interfaces.
- Minimum of 8 (eight) years’ professional experience
- Bachelors in engineering, IT or relevant technical field
- Databricks Certified Data Engineer preferred
- Demonstrated experience developing and operationalizing data governance strategy in a large or regulated environment.
- Hands-on expertise with data cataloging and metadata tools (Collibra, Alation, Informatica, Purview, Glue, or similar).
- Proven experience leading vendor selection, RFPs, and product evaluations.
- Strong knowledge of data architecture, cloud data platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), lineage, and data quality concepts.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and executive-facing presentation skills.
- Proven success in implementing distributed data environments.
- Strong understanding of data governance and compliance frameworks.
