Ameresco is seeking a Senior Project Manager to oversee the development and implementation of projects located nationwide, specifically; renewable natural gas (RNG) projects utilizing biomethane sources including landfill gas, wastewater treatment anaerobic digester gas, or agricultural anaerobic digester gas that is processed to achieve pipeline quality standards. This position can be remote with travel to project sites, or hybrid from our Charlotte, NC office with travel to project sites.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage projects with a multidiscipline team including project development, engineering, construction, commissioning, and operations.

  • Create and maintain overall responsibility for project schedule and budget throughout life of project. Communicate and critical path items to management in a timely manner.

  • Interact and coordinate activities with internal development, engineering, and construction teams throughout the project. Provide project reporting to internal management and external customers. Manage progress meetings.

  • Identify opportunities to value engineer proposed designs.

  • Complete project close-out in a timely manner.

  • Assess project viability and risks.

  • Negotiate project and, utility agreements, and evaluate utility requirements.

  • Evaluate gas interconnection and pipeline options, as well as gas resource and quality requirements.

  • Develop project execution and permitting plans. Ensure permit, code, and contract compliance during construction. Prepare RFP’s and select and negotiate construction subcontracts.

  • Manage and hire consultants to oversee development and permitting.

  • Assist in evaluating process technology and manage drawing reviews. Manage equipment procurements, schedule, and budget.

  • Select engineering consultants and manage engineering deliverables. Participate in hazard reviews and ensure safe design. Develop commissioning plan.

  • Manage construction completion, commissioning, and Acceptance Testing and Project close-out.

  • Perform other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or other technical degree; or the equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.

  • Minimum of seven (7) years of progressive experience in energy projects, power generation or the industrial area.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience in AG Digester to RNG Projects preferred.

  • Advanced computer applications skills (Microsoft), including AutoCAD, Project, Excel, Bluebeam and Smartsheets.

  • Experience in developing project schedules.

  • Ability to successfully complete training and testing required for the position.

  • Ability to work as part of a team and act quickly with minimal supervision.

  • Proven ability to manage and complete complex projects in a timely, cost-effective manner.

  • Demonstrated ability to interact and work with multi-functional teams including sales, customers, equipment vendors, contractors, multi-discipline engineers and utilities.

  • Excellent organization skills including ability to effectively manage multiple priorities.

  • Strong verbal, written, computer communication and technical presentation skills.

  • Oil and gas industry experience including gas compression and/or separation.

  • Demonstrated electrical, mechanical process, and control systems aptitude.

  • Experience working with complex contracts and financing arrangements.

  • Experience working in equipment fabrication and construction.

  • Ability to travel to jobsite during, development, construction, commissioning, and operations. Could be up to 50% travel requirement to any of the 50 states.

  • Current Professional Engineer (PE) registration or EIT is preferred.

  • Valid Driver License issued by state of residence and in good standing.
