AZRA is a specialty niche reinsurer, domiciled in California and licensed as an admitted insurer in 36 states (including District of Columbia), and is a qualified, accredited, or approved reinsurer in fifteen states. AZRA is a property casualty reinsurer which writes both prospective and legacy reinsurance. AZRA has specific expertise in run-off management of U.S. legacy insurance liabilities. It services Allianz Group affiliates and third parties including third party claims administration of asbestos, environmental, workers compensation, general liability, and construction defect liabilities.

AZRA has approximately 150 employees located nationwide with the majority working on a remote basis.

Responsible for the holistic management of Protection and Resilience (P&R) at AZRA (Allianz Reinsurance America). The setup of P & R at AZRA is such that the domains are allocated to specific individuals with expertise, and therefore this individual serves as P & R Manager across the 10 domains and is a reliable partner with AZRe. Ensures AZRA is in compliance with the P & R standard through a sound governance framework and that Protection and Resilience is embedded in the culture of AZRA. They ensure AZRA meets the requirements in its daily business by bringing together protection and resilience experts and AZRA business to detect the risks and requirements of today and tomorrow, and to develop viable prevention activities.

What you do:

  • Ensure compliance with Allianz Protection and Resilience Standard ensuring processes are appropriately implemented, maintained and adhered to in accordance with respective internal and external requirements within the P & R Standard; act as project manager as indicated.
  • Responsible for implementation of LE Level P & R Framework including new requirements and controls with AZRA expert functions.
  • Accountable for Protection & Resilience monitoring and reporting to allow management to self-assess, prioritize based on results of the assessment, and adjust business processes to help ensure AZRA can react promptly. Shall ensure that if deficiencies or areas for improvement are identified, appropriate action plans, due dates and owners are put in place.
  • Performs role of Business Continuity Management at the AZRA level as outlined in the P & R Standard; co-ordinates with domain expert functions; and represent BCM during a Crisis.
  • Responsible for the implementation of Protective Security Management at the AZRA Level as outlined in the P & R Standard and adapted locally.
  • Performs Global Incident Management at OE level as outlined in the P & R Standard; co-ordinates with domain expert functions.
  • Manages the P & R Self Assessment at the OE Level ensuring the expert functions for the domains present and discuss the results of the self-assessment. Shall review and acknowledge the results and submit to AZRe.

What you bring:

  • 4-5 years of experience required; experience in a leadership capacity, strategic planning, project management, supplier relationship management, risk management to effectively apply risk principles to challenging business situations.
  • Four-year degree required in business administration or similar

Base Salary Range $140,000 - $180,000

Actual base salary may vary based upon factors such as relevant experience, qualifications, internal equity of peers, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual incentive program.
