The Opportunity

The Territory Sales Representative is responsible for developing and prospecting long term, profitable customer relationships with existing and prospective customers in the Illinois/Indiana/Wisconsin region and end-markets to achieve Sales quotas for assigned accounts.

The Team

Reporting directly to Sales Manager, the Territory Sales Representative will build, maintain, and manage relationships with end users, contractors, and other key customer personnel along with monitoring results and developing plans to meet and exceed goals. They will also assess needs of customer accounts and ensure that solutions are offered, sold, and followed through with; further develop and maintain accounts through technical support and account servicing, in addition to negotiations required to maintain profitable growth for assigned customers through value-added and consultative selling techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve sales revenue and other goals through individual effort and team collaboration using business selling skills, technical expertise in assigned products, and excellent customer responsiveness.
  • Understand customer business strategy, decision-making process, and customer culture to develop a path for identifying, qualifying, negotiating, and closing new business opportunities.
  • Collect customer requirements to quote Request for Proposals from customers including drawings, specifications, and contract terms.
  • Facilitate communications between AGI Quote Team and end-users to ensure accurate cost estimating.
  • Work with internal departments to solve problems and develop solutions for customer accounts.
  • Strategize with management to locate and maximize sales opportunities. Develop strategies and provide feedback to ensure we remain competitive in the market.
  • Gather and share competitive information with appropriate internal departments and assists with customer retention by being aware of competitive situations and proposing counter strategies to defend and gain market share.
  • Conduct sales presentations and product demonstrations to channel partners, contractors, and direct end-user accounts.
  • Develop and manage territory and dealer business plans.
  • Develop and cultivate positive relationships with customers at all levels of the organization and influence decision makers within various disciplines at the customer (engineering, purchasing, quality, and manufacturing) to build and maintain rapport with customer decision makers to provide extraordinary customer service and identify new business opportunities.
  • Enter all Customer Opportunities into Salesforce and actively manage and maintain current Opportunity status.
  • Support regional and national trade shows, conference, expos, and marketing events.
  • Create and grow a positive culture and contribute positively to the Company image.

Qualifications

  • Post Secondary Degree in Business, Agriculture, Engineering, or relevant technical discipline.
  • 4+ years of demonstrated sales achievements of engineered to order products or capital equipment preferred.
  • Ability to understand and communicate technical product specifications, drawings, and site layouts.
  • Committed to take the time to get to know the organization, invest in relationships and keep commitments to build mutual trust.
  • Ability to thrive & grow in a continuously evolving environment.
  • Advanced skills with: Word, Excel, Outlook, Salesforce.
