We're currently on the lookout for an experienced Head of Internal IT for our company with about 130 employees in Switzerland, Germany, the Netherlands, Australia, and Egypt.

In this newly established role, you'll be directly reporting to the Chief Operating Officer.

Tasks

As Head of Internal IT, you'll be responsible for the strategic direction, operational excellence, security, and effective delivery of all internal IT services and systems.

By ensuring reliable and secure operations, aligning technology initiatives with business goals, and enhancing efficiency through well-managed IT services, you'll play a critical role in the company's success.

You'll collaborate closely with key stakeholders—including executive leadership, delivery teams in Switzerland and abroad, and external vendors—and will be expected to skillfully balance their diverse priorities and expectations.

Your tasks and duties will include:

  • Shaping and executing the internal IT strategy in alignment with business goals
  • Governing the IT service framework and managing the lifecycle of internal technologies
  • Monitoring and optimizing performance KPIs; publishing regular management reports
  • Implementing IT security policies, incident response procedures, and continuity plans
  • Managing the IT project portfolio, steering progress, and reporting to executive leadership
  • Optimizing services, modernizing tools, and integrating best practices to drive improvement
  • Engaging stakeholders to capture needs, foster collaboration, and ensure satisfaction
  • Managing financial planning, cost structures, tracking, and reporting
  • Coordinating compliance audits and maintaining audit-ready documentation

Requirements

Experience and Expertise

  • Extensive hands-on experience as a system engineer in SMB and/or enterprise IT environments
  • Deep knowledge of open-source principles, technologies, and ecosystems
  • Expertise in developing IT strategies and implementing IT governance frameworks
  • Proficiency with ITSM frameworks and technology/service lifecycle management
  • Experience with cybersecurity frameworks, incident management, and continuity planning
  • Expertise in IT compliance (e.g., GDPR, FADP), including internal and external audits
  • Experience in budgeting and cost modeling for IT services
