AAON, Inc. is a prominent global leader in the engineering, manufacturing, and marketing of high-performance, energy-efficient heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) solutions. Founded in 1988 by Norman H. Asbjornson, the company was established through the acquisition of the heating and air conditioning division of the John Zink Company. Headquartered in Tulsa, Oklahoma, AAON has consistently focused on producing semi-custom and custom equipment tailored to the specific needs of commercial and industrial environments. This approach targets a niche market of customers who require more than standard, mass-produced units but seek a cost-effective alternative to fully customized systems. The company's products are renowned for their quality, durability, and lower lifecycle costs, often commanding a premium initial price for long-term operational savings.

Publicly traded on the NASDAQ stock exchange under the ticker symbol AAON, the company has grown significantly over the decades, expanding its manufacturing footprint to include facilities in Longview, Texas; Parkville, Missouri; and Redmond, Oregon. AAON's product portfolio is extensive, featuring rooftop units, data center cooling solutions, cleanroom systems, chillers, packaged outdoor mechanical rooms, air handling units, makeup air units, and advanced control systems. The company serves a diverse range of industries, including retail, education, healthcare, hospitality, government, and manufacturing. A key milestone in its recent history was the 2021 acquisition of BASX Solutions, a move that significantly bolstered its capabilities in the rapidly growing data center and cleanroom markets.
