1047 Games began with the simple principle that people should have fun while making great games. Bucking convention and driven by a passion to create the ultimate gaming experience, Ian Proulx and Nicholas Bagamian founded 1047 Games in 2017 in their Stanford dorm room. Their love for arena shooters of the past drove them to create Splitgate, a unique sci-fi first-person shooter that adds portal guns to upend the genre.
What started as two computer science majors putting portals into a first-person shooter for a project demo has evolved into a VC-backed company which has raised more than $120MM in funding.

What we’re looking for:
Video Editors in the game industry combine their gamer empathy alongside the foundations of the editing craft to weave compelling visual narratives that stir the heart.
The mid-level video editor will craft a variety of video content, from gameplay trailers to live-action content, all the while collaborating closely with the marketing team. This individual has a strong grasp on storytelling, visual hierarchies and is experienced with the technical side of editorial. They are passionate about creating engaging video content for players and can clearly articulate editing choices, relating them back to storytelling and creative direction.
They thrive well in a fast paced environment and are able to handle multiple projects with tight deadlines. A self-starter with a collaborative spirit, this individual is open to accepting and providing constructive feedback, while also trusted to take initiative when the need rises. In working with other video professionals on the team, this individual is also detail oriented and organized, ensuring their work is up to quality standards. They are familiar with the FPS genre, ensuring the scenes are authentic and skillful.
Responsibilities
- Be involved from pre-production to post. They will collaborate with video professionals in creating storyboards, animatics, craft various forms of video content and help develop and maintain the tone within the videos. Also responsible for color grading, audio post production, and music editing.
- Participate in playtests for trailers, ingest and organize footage, and prep assets for archival
- Able to facilitate content reviews with stakeholders and strong ability to interpret and implement feedback.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including game developers, designers, writers, and marketers, to ensure cohesive and impactful video content.
- With the Video Lead and other video professional colleagues, improve the craft and standard of filmmaking within games.
Requirements:
- A minimum five years of professional experience in video game marketing
- Strong understanding of tone, storytelling, pacing, and timing with visual and audio languages.
- Mastery of an NLE application, preferably Adobe Premiere Pro and proficiency in one motion graphics application, such as Adobe After Effects.
- Strong understanding of current post production workflows and archival organization.
- Familiarity with color grading and audio post production workflow
- Familiarity with UE5 and Sequencer
- Familiarity with creating storyboards and animatics for marketing content.
