What I'm looking for

I'm looking to build backend and distributed systems or machine learning products where I can understand the underlying tradeoffs, work on challenging problems, and continue growing through hands-on engineering and research.

At Vermeg, I'm building a multi-tenant Go ticketing platform integrated with Jira through Google OAuth and the Jira API. I added machine learning-based ticket classification and routing.

At QCRI, I evaluate vision-language models for cultural reasoning and design metrics to measure their performance. I also built a Flask application and image scraper to collect and review the dataset.

I enjoy understanding systems from the ground up, from implementing Raft consensus and distributed job queues in Go to training a Vision Transformer in PyTorch and diagnosing overfitting.

Selected through a competitive application process; learned machine learning and deep learning, covering models such as CNNs, ResNet, and Transformers. Built a brain tumor detection app using a ResNet model on a real Chinese medical imaging dataset, reaching 92% accuracy with a matching F1-score.
