Xiwen Gu

I’m an undergraduate researcher at Georgia Tech, working in hands-on environments that connect sensing hardware with real interactive outcomes. My background centers on robotics and human-facing systems, where thoughtful design meets reliable engineering.

In the Robotic Environment Lab, I support research that spans Human Computer Interaction, Robotics, and Wireless Sensor Networks. I’m especially motivated by work that turns embedded and networking concepts into dependable, user-relevant behavior.

Through Georgia Tech Solar Racing and related subteam roles, I’ve built experience with Embedded Systems, Firmware, Communication, and Printed Circuit Board Manufacturing. I also developed motion-sensing capabilities for a VIP Program project, integrating motion-based sensors to trigger spatial audio effects in an ambisonic spherephone system.

Earlier research experience at Jiangnan University strengthened my scientific workflow, including assisting research on droplet micro-particle separation. I bring that research mindset into every project—iterating quickly, documenting clearly, and collaborating to move from prototypes to working systems.
