At Accord, I developed person-centered community support plans and service agreements for people on my caseload. I coordinated services under Minnesota’s CADI, BI, EW, and DD waivers and partnered with certified assessors on MnCHOICES assessments.
As a Medical Interpreter at Ingco International, I interpret for medical, legal, industry, and government clients, and translate documents from English to Somali. I also explain complex medical forms and instructions to patients with limited English proficiency.
My work has also included public health investigations at Minnesota Department of Health and in-home support as a Behavior Technician at Ubbad Services LLC. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Public Health with a minor in English, and I wrote the memoir Warda: My Journey from the Horn of Africa to a College Education.
