I'm a laboratory technician preparing marine and biological samples for reliable analytical and genetic research.
What I'm looking for
At Pacific Community SPC’s FAME Division, I prepare, sort, identify, analyse, and record marine specimens for the Pacific Marine Specimen Bank and Fisheries Taxonomy Lab. I also support genetic analysis of mesopelagic fish and Skipjack Tuna samples while maintaining collection integrity, equipment readiness, and laboratory supplies.
My laboratory training covers chemical and biological sample preparation, water-quality analysis, spectroscopy, instrument calibration, quality control, microbiology, haematology, and data management. I work carefully with safety protocols, ISO/IEC 17025 principles, aseptic techniques, and laboratory software including Excel, ChromLab, TotalChrom, Blackboard, and LIMS.
I contributed to research that discovered eight new shrimp species in the Southwest Tropical Pacific, including Pasiphaea tokalaui, named in my honour. I’m pursuing a Bachelor of Applied Science in Laboratory Science and looking to contribute dependable technical work to innovative laboratory practice.
