Vincent Huynh
@vincenthuynh
Math & Computer Science student and software engineer building reliable ML-backed web applications.
What I'm looking for
I am a Bachelor of Science candidate in Math and Computer Science at UC San Diego, focused on practical applications of machine learning, computer vision, and web engineering.
In recent internships I built and optimized a Retrieval-Augmented Generation pipeline, reduced latency and startup times, and increased answer grounding and reliability through improved retrieval and post-processing.
I reimplemented camera calibration tooling and created interactive 3D visualizations for multi-camera pose estimation, refactoring large code blocks into maintainable, object-oriented modules.
I also developed data-driven products and front-ends using Flask, React/Next.js, MongoDB, and PyTorch, collaborating via Git in cross-functional teams to deliver production-ready features.

Software Engineer Intern
iVector
Aug 2025 - Present (2 months)
Developed and optimized a Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) application using LangChain and HuggingFace, cutting startup time from 25s to 15s and response latency from 23s to 8s while reducing irrelevant outputs by 70%.
Research Assistant
Salk Institute for Biological Studies
Feb 2025 - Jul 2025 (5 months)
Researched multi-animal 3D pose estimation and reimplemented camera calibration with OpenCV, removing external dependencies and building a 3D Plotly visualization for up to 18 cameras to improve interpretability.
Data Scientist Intern
E-Com Fashion
Jun 2024 - Aug 2024 (2 months)
Streamlined data wrangling and performed audience analysis on Pinterest campaign data, identifying key interests and demographics that shifted marketing focus toward a younger audience.
Software Team Member
Triton Unmanned Aerial Systems
Oct 2022 - Apr 2023 (6 months)
Contributed to a computer vision system for detecting and classifying ground targets, implementing segmentation and deep learning models tested on 20+ targets to improve detection accuracy.
