Victoria Kabeya
@victoriakabeya
Interdisciplinary AI ethics researcher blending history, cultural insight, and policy.
What I'm looking for
I am an interdisciplinary researcher with over 11 years' experience at the intersection of AI ethics, historical representation, and digital humanities. I specialize in responsible, human-centered AI, algorithmic bias, epistemic injustice, and cultural representation with particular attention to Black Arab, Afro-MENA, and postcolonial contexts.
As founder and research director of an independent research-driven publishing platform, I have led long-term interdisciplinary projects that integrate historical analysis, digital tools, and AI-assisted methodologies. I oversee corpus curation, metadata structuring, editorial strategy, and the ethical dissemination of knowledge.
My independent historical research across the Middle East, East Africa, and the Mediterranean has produced books, essays, and public-facing outputs grounded in archival and comparative analysis. I translate critical research into policy-relevant insights, public scholarship, and educational initiatives suited to EU institutions, fellowships, think tanks, and ethics advisory bodies.
I have contributed targeted projects on LLMs and representational harm and created digital platforms promoting inclusion and ethical representation. I bring a historically grounded, culturally informed lens to AI governance, accountability, and the evaluation of knowledge infrastructures.
