Valon Nushi

I'm pursuing a PhD in Forensic Dental Medicine at the University of Lisbon, where I research forensic age estimation through machine learning using radiographic datasets, image annotation, and convolutional neural networks.

As a Research Contributor on FORENSEMED's AIDENTIFYAGE Project, I support large radiographic dataset construction, preprocessing, annotation, and AI model-performance assessment for relevant image patterns. I've contributed to peer-reviewed work on VGG16 models, orthopantomography analysis, dental data labeling, age assessment, and cranio-mandibular radiologic parameters, while participating in DVI processes, training, and scientific dissemination.

Alongside forensic research, I managed education and youth-development programmes for UNICEF in Sierra Leone and Kosovo, building partnerships and technology capacity for teachers and youth mentors. I bring experience communicating across international, multidisciplinary environments as a scientific presenter and keynote speaker.
