Tudor Rotariu

I’m a Computer Science graduate starting a Master’s in Geomatics and Digital Cartography, focused on turning real-world geography into reliable, usable systems. I learn fast, think logically, and enjoy collaborating to turn complex problems into clear solutions.

In my current thesis, I combine pathfinding algorithms with real geographic data to enable metric-accurate routing and dynamic behavior. I built a multi-agent urban fire evacuation and crowd dynamics simulator using Python and spatial tooling, including QGIS and geospatial libraries, and added real-time dynamic rerouting as fire spreads plus a custom live-tracking dashboard.

I also develop practical machine learning and software projects: a Python visual search engine for landmark recognition using SIFT and VLAD, and a hybrid mushroom classification approach combining SVM with genetic algorithms. On the engineering side, I built a secure shopping platform using Node.js and SQLite with role-based access and protections against SQL injection and brute-force attacks.

Beyond GIS and ML, I design data models and interactive applications, from relational database systems (SQL/Oracle) to 2D games in Python (PyQt5) and Java. I’ve tested and strengthened my skills through CTF-style cybersecurity participation and team leadership in a robotics program, and I bring that same hands-on, solution-first energy to every project.
