What I'm looking for

Remote machine learning engineering roles where I can ship production ML systems and apply interpretability methods to real models. Strongest fit is scientific AI, model interpretability, and MLOps, with FHIR and clinical data as a secondary domain. Based in Canada and able to work with international teams as a contractor or through an EOR, so remote roles need no visa sponsorship.

I am a machine learning engineer with postgraduate training in physics and AI. My work splits between building production ML systems and auditing scientific models with interpretability methods.

At metricHEALTH Solutions (health-tech, FHIR clinical data integration) I work as a software developer and data engineer, where I built a handwriting-OCR pipeline on Vertex AI and Gemini that outputs structured FHIR R4B records.

In 2026 I completed two research manuscripts, both with Zenodo deposits and arXiv submissions pending. One uses interventional masked-line ablation to test whether a LightGBM classifier of stellar spectra learns real physics or shortcuts, reaching macro-F1 0.926 across 3,032 spectra. The other benchmarks narrative RAG against structured retrieval for clinical question answering over synthetic patient records.

Day to day I work in Python with PyTorch, scikit-learn, and pandas, with MLOps on Google Cloud. Open to remote ML engineering roles, with a focus on scientific AI, model interpretability, and MLOps.
