Taylor Dowdy
@taylordowdy
Lead software engineer specializing in microservices, API integration, and DevOps automation.
What I'm looking for
I am a lead software engineer with deep experience designing and implementing microservices, API integrations, and migration strategies for large-scale telecom systems. At AT&T I built services from investigation through production, simplified systems with asynchronous Kafka processing, and led delivery for fiber qualification and Gigapower initiatives.
I specialize in Mulesoft/Anypoint Platform, Java/Spring Boot services, Azure DevOps CI/CD, and performance and security automation. I drive architecture, create documentation and diagrams to enable transformation from monoliths to REST microservices, and lead teams to deliver impactful results that saved costs and generated revenue.
I bring strong operational ownership—24/7 production support, performance testing to meet SLA targets, and automation for DAST/SAST compliance—and I leverage modern tools, including in-house generative AI, to accelerate delivery while maintaining quality.
Experience
Work history, roles, and key accomplishments
Led AT&T's address qualification Mulesoft implementation and built a new fiber address qualification service, migrating legacy systems to an asynchronous Kafka-based architecture and improving validation throughput and reliability.
Designed architectures and drove Mulesoft API implementations to enable transformation and retirement of on-prem monoliths, leading a development team to integrate Gigapower fiber into the AT&T Dispatch ecosystem.
Transformed backend microservices and GUI for the Dispatch Learning Engine, built job-assignment and alerting microservices that reduced operational costs and improved on-call response.
