Tameshia Atkinson
@tameshiaatkinson
Lead speech-language pathologist delivering person-centered pediatric and dysphagia care with strong team leadership.
What I'm looking for
I’m a Lead Clinical Speech-Language Pathologist focused on person-centered care across inpatient and residential units, and I lead SLP services with clinical oversight and staff supervision. I conduct swallowing and mealtime assessments, develop individualized feeding protocols and dysphagia diet plans, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support safe, effective communication and care.
Through my ownership and leadership at Words & Beyond Speech Therapy Services, LLC, I’ve delivered contract-based early intervention and pediatric speech-language pathology services, managing school caseloads of 75–80+ students and supporting SLP assistants remotely for Georgia public school settings. I lead evaluations, eligibility assessments, and IEP goal development, coordinate screenings for early identification, and provide family education and coaching to support carryover in natural routines.
I also bring clinical teaching and evidence-based practice to supervision roles, including Clinical Placement Supervisor experience at Baylor University and Emerson College, where I guided graduate-level student learning in evaluation, diagnosis, and intervention planning for pediatric communication needs. Across settings, I interpret Modified Barium Swallow Studies (MBSS), maintain strong documentation practices in AVATAR ECNX, and deliver staff training on safe feeding, communication supports, and AAC.
