At PayPal, I build backend systems for asset externalization, consumer debit controls, card issuance, tokenization, and Pay with Venmo. My work spans batch pipelines processing millions of records, payment authorization and settlement flows, and event-driven money movement systems.
I designed a BigQuery materialized-view layer that decoupled batch reads from live events and addressed mid-batch record corruption risk. I also introduced Claude-assisted schema mapping that reduced partner analysis from roughly a week to two days.
I’ve owned production services end to end: API contracts, zero-downtime expand-contract migrations, on-call response, release validation, observability, and reconciliation. I built Spring Boot and gRPC services supporting 99.9%+ availability and p99 response targets below 300ms.
Before PayPal, I worked with American Express through Tata Consultancy Services on high-volume card authorization, settlement, and cryptographic payment processing. I’ve built Java services around HSMs, DUKPT, PIN translation, PCI DSS controls, Oracle, and resilient production operations.
