Sonakshi Arora

I’m a Computer Science student with strong backend expertise and hands-on development experience, focused on building scalable, high-performance systems that solve real-world problems. I’m driven by practical engineering—turning ideas into working features and refining them through testing and iteration.

In my projects, I’ve built products that reduce friction for users: a Smart Nearby Places Recommender using Python, Google Maps Places API, and mood-based filtering with resilient error handling and responsive UI states. I also developed a Medical Symptom Extraction System using Python and NLP/NLTK to extract symptoms from unstructured inputs and assign risk categories for faster preliminary assessment.

I enjoy working at the intersection of AI and application development. My Study Assistant—Context-Aware Doubt Solver uses React with a RAG-based Q&A workflow (LangChain, FAISS, and Gemini API), where users upload PDFs and receive context-grounded answers that improve study efficiency. I also gain cloud experience through AWS Static Website Hosting with Amazon S3, CloudFront CDN, and IAM.

Through internships, I’ve expanded from core backend work into AI-powered experiences and end-to-end feature delivery. I designed and implemented a scalable song recommendation system using mood understanding and AI sentiment analysis, built a responsive Fitness Tracker system with REST APIs, MySQL, secure password hashing, protected routes, and end-to-end tested workflows, and contributed to a Career Counselling Portal involving personality traits, backend functionality, and report generation.
