Somi Mbogori

I am a pragmatic full-stack software engineer with hands-on experience building and maintaining scalable backend systems, APIs, and developer workflows. I combine backend development in Python with modern DevOps practices to deliver reliable production services.

At Savannah Informatics I contributed to healthcare claims platforms, optimizing Celery-based async tasks and introducing containerized development with Docker and Kubernetes to improve deployment consistency. I implemented fault-tolerant mechanisms and Sentry-based monitoring to increase operational visibility.

Previously I worked as a junior Site Reliability Engineer, where I implemented monitoring, caching, and CI/CD improvements that reduced processing times and improved endpoint responsiveness. I collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and clients to integrate systems and improve turnaround times for claim payments.

I build side projects that reinforce my skills in ML, observability, and web development — from a DDoS mitigation prototype with Prometheus/Grafana to full-stack Django applications and image-classification services. I hold a BSc in Computer Science and an Azure certification, and I seek roles where I can continue improving system reliability and developer productivity.
