Somesh Joshi

I’m a mechanical engineer with hands-on experience applying SolidWorks, CATIA, and ANSYS to real component design, kinematic analysis, and FEA-driven design iteration, including SAE TIFAN projects. My work blends strong analytical capability with a machine learning–mechanical engineering crossover to build designs that are testable, predictable, and manufacturable.

At Adani Power, I was joined as a Graduate Engineer Trainee and promoted—ultimately reaching Assistant Manager within one month of senior engineer completion. I diagnosed a recurring feeder reliability issue and led a component-level fix trial, progressing “3 of 14 feeders” converted “with zero recurrence since,” and I lead maintenance execution (SAP PM) on critical rotating equipment to strengthen design-for-reliability decisions.

I also support reliability through wear-pattern and shutdown planning, preparing equipment datasheets for coal mills and participating in coal pipe wear surveys to prioritize overhaul scheduling. Alongside plant impact, I’ve delivered engineering-grade results like overturning an assumed geometry via ANSYS static structural analysis, and using CNC experiment design with Python machine learning to improve roughness prediction accuracy up to 93%.
