shantona mir
@shantonamir
I develop ESL curriculum, assessments, and learning tools for multilingual university learners.
What I'm looking for
I'm developing English-language assessments and learning materials at Brigham Young University, including a university-level English Admission Test for NNES learners and an ESL vocabulary app with 3,000 leveled high-frequency words.
As a Graduate ESL Instructor at BYU's English Language Center, I teach novice to academic-level multilingual learners, design interactive lesson plans, and manage multilingual classrooms. I've also contributed to large-scale leveled vocabulary assessment materials and ELC's Foundation B Writing Book.
My research and presentations focus on language assessment, academic language needs, AI-assisted vocabulary test creation, and multilingual learners' experiences. I'm an educator with a curious mind and a love for exploring cultures through travel, food, spontaneous adventures, and meaningful conversations.
