Sebastian Muñoz Noriega

I’m a Hydrographer Category B (IHO) with field experience in hydrographic and oceanographic surveys, focused on data acquisition and processing using single beam, multibeam, and geophysical equipment. I bring strong teamwork skills developed through service in the Colombian Navy and experience aboard scientific vessels.

From Jan 2022 to Dec 2023 at the Caribbean Oceanographic and Hydrographic Research Center (CIOH), I acquired and processed hydrographic data (single beam, multibeam) and supported geophysical surveys using side scan sonar and a marine magnetometer. I also conducted sound velocity profile measurements, provided NAVTEX service support, and contributed to equipment maintenance and field operations.

Before that, as a Hydrographer/crew member on the scientific vessel ARC Malpelo, I supported offshore manoeuvres and field assistance during hydrographic and oceanographic surveys (Jul 2020–Dec 2021). I hold the FIG/IHO/ICA–IBSC Certified Hydrographer (Category B) and I’m currently improving English and technical skills for international opportunities.
