Valentina Cabrales
@valentinacabrales
Civil and Environmental Engineer specializing in hydrology and road drainage design.
What I'm looking for
I am a Civil and Environmental Engineer with a Master’s in Civil Engineering from Universidad de los Andes, bilingual and focused on hydrology and geotechnics.
I have conducted hydrological analysis for a >180 kilometer road project in Peru, delineating drainage basins in QGIS and performing flood frequency analysis to inform hydraulic structure proposals and designs using CIVIL 3D and Excel.
As a teaching assistant I developed original lectures and taught hydrology tools such as ArcGIS, Excel and HYFRAN to over 200 undergraduate engineering students, and I managed field activities including visits to weather stations and river flow measurements.
My master’s thesis assessed landslide probability using CMIP6-based climate simulations, a Matlab weather generator and TOPMODEL; I bring strong analytical thinking, practical problem solving and teamwork to consulting and research projects.
