Sasha Melnyk

I’m a third-year Computer Science student specializing in Java backend development, and I build microservices-based systems with Spring Boot. I focus on production-style, event-driven architectures—building platform features such as authentication, media delivery, and analytics.

In my recent role as a Backend Developer with GDG PJATK, I built and shipped REST APIs using Spring Boot and Hibernate, taking features from design through deployment. I wrote unit tests with JUnit to validate business logic, and I participated in Agile sprint planning and code reviews to keep code quality consistent across the team.

On my Music Streaming Platform project, I architected a Spotify-inspired microservices backend with independent services and a database-per-service pattern. I implemented secure authentication and authorization with Spring Security and JWT (including refresh-token rotation and role-based access control), and I used Apache Kafka to process track-play events asynchronously for analytics without blocking request flows.

I’m now seeking a Junior Developer or Internship role where I can contribute my backend engineering and software architecture skills to a real product team. I’m comfortable across the stack as well, including React/Next.js on the frontend, and I value clean design supported by OOP, SOLID, Design Patterns, and UML.
