Santiago Moraes Acosta
@santiagomoraesacosta
International affairs professional with experience in policy research, migration, humanitarian programs, and stakeholder engagement.
What I'm looking for
I’m a recent graduate with experience in international communications, migration analysis, media monitoring, and operations support across the United Nations and nonprofit environments. I monitor international and social media narratives, identify emerging issues, and produce structured analytical briefings for internal stakeholders and technical teams.
I bring strong cross-cultural communication and stakeholder coordination, including Spanish-English interpretation, translation/localization of public-facing materials, and evidence-based reporting using tools like Meltwater. Whether supporting refugee resettlement operations or tracking reputational risks in complex political contexts, I focus on accurate records, timely insights, and actionable outcomes.
I am an international affairs professional with a Master’s degree in Diplomacy and International Commerce from the University of Kentucky, as well as dual Bachelor’s degrees in International Studies and Political Science. My academic and professional experience has focused on international development, migration, humanitarian assistance, policy analysis, stakeholder engagement, and global affairs.
I have worked with organizations including the United Nations Information Centre (UNIC) in Mexico City and Kentucky Refugee Ministries, where I supported research, communications, client services, program operations, and cross-cultural engagement. Through these experiences, I developed strong skills in policy research, data collection, report writing, stakeholder coordination, and working with diverse international populations.
My background includes analyzing political and social issues, supporting refugee and migrant communities, translating and communicating complex information, conducting qualitative research, and contributing to projects involving human rights, development, and international cooperation. I am fluent in English and Spanish and have experience working in multicultural and international environments.
I am particularly interested in opportunities related to international organizations, public policy, humanitarian affairs, global development, program management, political risk, governance, human rights, research, and strategic communications. I enjoy transforming complex information into actionable insights, building relationships across sectors, and contributing to initiatives that create meaningful social impact.
Currently, I am seeking entry-level and early-career opportunities in international affairs, policy, research, development, and program management where I can continue growing professionally while contributing to mission-driven organizations.
