At Jio Platforms Limited, I designed and built a multi-tenant access-control system in Java and Spring Boot, with strict tenant isolation and hierarchical role-based access control.
I reworked the MFA login flow into an asynchronous, event-driven design using Redis and Apache Kafka. This cut p99 authentication latency from 3 seconds to 300 milliseconds and supported growth from 500 to 2,000 concurrent users.
I also implemented LDAP authentication, TOTP-based MFA, and optional one-time passcodes for privileged access. Redis caching reduced PostgreSQL reads on authorization paths, while a request-based approval workflow and Kafka notifications cut manual admin overhead.
I added circuit breakers and retries for inter-service REST calls and wrote JUnit 5 and Mockito tests for tenant isolation and authorization. The platform supports 25–30 tenants and a 99.9% SLA.
