I've spent 28 years building local journalism, most recently as owner and publisher of the Hometown Journal Newspaper in Needville, Texas.
I handled writing, editing, photography, page building in Photoshop and InDesign, advertising sales, ad design, and the business paperwork required to run the newspaper.
Before purchasing the Gulf Coast Tribune, I spent more than two decades at the Fort Bend Herald as Sports Editor and Managing Editor. My work has earned nearly two dozen Texas Associated Press Managing Editors journalism awards, including the Putt Powell Award for outstanding high school sports writing in Texas.
