Sabin Acharya
@sabinacharya
Immunology and microbiology PhD researcher unraveling tissue immunology and host–microbe B-cell mechanisms.
What I'm looking for
I’m a Ph.D.-level immunology and microbiology researcher based in South Korea, focused on tissue immunology, neuroimmunology, host–microbe interactions, B-cell biology, autoimmunity, and cancer. I enjoy turning mechanistic questions into testable hypotheses using robust in vivo and cell-based experiments.
In my current graduate research assistant role at Seoul National University, I investigate the mechanisms governing anti-aquaporin-5 autoantibody production in mouse models. I also explore how B lymphocytes can act as bacterial antigen-presenting cells and how bacteria are internalized by B cells.
Previously, I studied in vivo immunopharmacology and mast cell-related signaling by examining the anti-asthmatic efficacy and safety of Inotodiol in mouse models. My work includes a publication on how Inotodiol preferentially impairs membrane-proximal signaling for mast cell activation.
I build my projects with strong immunology and cell biology methods, including flow cytometry (multicolor panels), gene silencing (siRNA/shRNA), and molecular readouts like RT-qPCR. I’m motivated by collaboration, I’ve supported teaching and mentoring, and I’m driven to contribute to work that clarifies immune mechanisms and informs therapeutic direction.
