I'm a Lead iOS Engineer with 12+ years building consumer apps at scale. For the past nine years I've been at Breethe, a meditation and sleep app with 10+ million App Store downloads, a 4.7-star rating across 71,000+ reviews, and a 99.99% crash-free session rate, where I grew from iOS Developer to Lead Developer and own the iOS platform end to end.

The work I'm proudest of is architectural. I led our migration to MVVM with Coordinators during a full UI redesign, a decision driven as much by onboarding time for new engineers as by separation of concerns. I introduced Swift strict concurrency ahead of the Swift 6 default, migrating module by module so feature delivery never stalled, because a migration that blocks everyone else gets abandoned. I extracted our reusable UI components into a local Swift package, which cut SwiftUI preview build times and gave the component layer a clean boundary.

I've also shipped new product surfaces: a SwiftUI watchOS companion app built on Swift frameworks shared between targets, and the client layer for our AI-backed features, including one that requests speech synthesis per script chunk and streams playback while later chunks are still generating.

Technically I work in Swift and Objective-C, SwiftUI and UIKit, Combine, structured concurrency, Core Data, AVFoundation, WidgetKit, and App Intents. I own our CI/CD on Xcode Cloud, established our testing baseline with XCTest and Swift Testing, and run A/B tests and analytics through Firebase Remote Config, Taplytics, Kissmetrics, Iterable, and AppsFlyer. I use Claude Code daily. I've implemented Dynamic Type and VoiceOver support.

Before Breethe I spent four years as an independent iOS contractor on Upwork, delivering apps end to end in video, hospitality, and fitness, which taught me to own the full lifecycle and work directly with the people whose problem I was solving.

What I'm looking for: a senior or lead iOS role on a consumer product with real users, ideally a larger codebase with more contributors than I have now. Being the primary engineer teaches you ownership, but I want technical decisions argued over before they ship. Fully remote, US-based, Pacific timezone.
