Ruan Burger
@ruanburger
Data Engineer II at Capitec who cut dispute resolution to 24 hours with an automated data pipeline.
South AfricaWhat I'm looking for
At Capitec, I led an on-premise ETL/ELT migration to AWS and refactored T-SQL into optimized PostgreSQL. I also built an ATM fleet monitoring pipeline and KPI dashboards covering 8,000+ devices.
I engineered a Disputes pipeline integrating the Salesforce REST API, reducing resolution time from 7–14 days to 24 hours. My work also includes cash replenishment analytics that reduced cash-in-transit from R23M to R6.5M, and automated reporting pipelines using Airflow and Control-M.
