I'm an applied researcher and policy analyst with eleven years of experience across public policy, agricultural markets and public health, most of it in Bangladesh. I moved to Saskatoon in August 2026 and hold an Open Work Permit.
Most recently I was Senior Program Manager at the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), where I both ran research projects and conducted analysis. I assessed Bangladesh's agricultural mechanization subsidy program and wrote reform recommendations for the Ministry of Agriculture; co-authored a randomized controlled trial testing whether discount vouchers changed farmers' uptake of a new technology; and evaluated cluster farming interventions using difference-in-differences. I also served as Deputy Chief of Party on a USAID-funded research program until early 2025, and coordinated CGIAR's Rethinking Food Markets Initiative in Bangladesh.
Before that I was an analyst on the Integrated Food Policy Research Program, a World Bank-funded project with the Bangladesh Ministry of Food as the client. I built a stochastic spatial equilibrium model to test how price stabilization instruments moved grain prices and volumes, worked on market forecasting models, and ran a national survey of rice millers and traders that produced the first estimates of private inventory held across that market. I also led a census of every public grain storage facility in the country, then built an R Shiny app so people could actually use the results: https://bifprp.shinyapps.io/StorageFacilityMap
I started out in public health at BRAC University, leading a UNICEF-funded study on child nutrition and contributing to research on occupational injury and tuberculosis mortality.
What interests me: questions where the data is messy and the answer matters to someone. I work in Stata, R and Python, and I’m good at visualizing data in the form of dashboards, maps, and tools for non-technical audiences. I have published both peer-reviewed articles and briefs for laypersons; a full list is available on my Google Scholar profile (https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=viXJojAAAAAJ&hl=en).
I'm open to a wide range of remote and Saskatchewan-based work, from policy analysis, and program evaluation, to data analysis, research management, and data and administrative work of most kinds. As a recent arrival in Canada I'm keen to get established, and I'm flexible about how that starts.
