Rayan Shayeb

I’m a Computer Science graduate with a strong foundation in AI Engineering and NLP. I build AI-powered recommendation and sentiment analysis models, and I’m especially passionate about RAG, LLMs, and data-driven decision making.

Currently, I’m developing an “AI-Powered Semantic Search System” where I’m implementing a Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipeline for natural language querying over custom datasets. I focus on vector embeddings, semantic search, and improving LLM context-awareness through retrieval logic and efficient vector database management.

I’ve also built end-to-end projects that blend engineering and applied ML. For a Freelance “Gewan Medical Center” website project, I engineered a responsive, multilingual platform using JavaScript and Bootstrap and optimized user experience across devices. In an academic project, I developed an AI-powered academic advising system using PHP, MySQL, and OpenAI’s GPT API with prompt engineering.

On the NLP side, I developed a sentiment analysis system comparing lexicon-based VADER with Transformer-based BERT models for real-world Trustpilot reviews. I used Python with Hugging Face Transformers and NLTK, applying preprocessing, information retrieval techniques, and relevance-based filtering to improve classification across positive, negative, and neutral sentiments.
