What I'm looking for

Build and flesh out new/redefine existing experiences no matter the problem at-hand. I love to dive into the unknown, to continuously learn and understand the unknown.

My name is Rais (pronounced "race") and I am a Lead Product Designer based in Brooklyn, NY. I find myself floating between brand and product, with extensive experience working with both established and emerging companies build and implement strong foundations.

I've worked and solved problems through design for video streaming services, gaming, subscriptions, e-commerce, fintech, and many more.

Some highlights in my career thus far:

Working on the mobile apps for Call of Duty League, Overwatch League, and Major League Gaming. Included assisting on the creation of a design system and implementing a very fluid brand to multiple apps in the Activision Blizzard ecosystem.
A comprehensive redesign of Atoms.com utilizing UX Research to create a fluid experience from landing on the homepage, to checking out, and creating a reason to visit again for users. This included a creation of a design system from nothing to a fully-fleshed out system and library of components.
Leading the mobile design team at Freshly, building out the design system and launching a very successful mobile app (4.9 stars with over 30,000 reviews).
Rebranding Backbone (playbackbone.com) and building the foundational design system and component library that is currently in implementation (releasing mid-2024)!
Currently leading design at Pair Eyewear, where I have been working on an extensive design system + component library, leading the UX research initiative, and redesigning the web experience.

Currently working on leveling-up the web experience of Pair Eyewear. Presently, we've created an extensive design system and library of components. We've defined and solved for pain points of users across the web experience. We are continuing implementation on updates across the site and are looking towards an app in the new year.

I joined Backbone to help with their web experience. Primarily, to create a design system to create a cohesive and uniform experience across web, email, and social. I also spearheaded creating a design system for a rebrand that is currently being implemented.

Spent my time at Atoms creating the foundational design system still being used today. Assisted with a rebrand led by Eric Hu, followed by David Boni to then implement into the web, email, and social experience.

Conducted UX research to further update the site from a user's journey starting with the homepage all the way to checkout to create a friction-less experience.

Created foundational design system for the mobile app, as well as contributed to a large portion of the web experience. Led design primarily on the mobile app from ideating, all the way to releasing and maintaining the mobile app on both iOS and Android.

Began working as a visual designer assisting various teams with design tasks including: email campaigns, presentation decks for E3 + PAX, branding for various esports initiatives across the gaming portfolio of Activision Blizzard.

Followed this experience to then work on launching various apps for the esports division of Call of Duty, Overwatch, World of Warcraft, and other games.
