Prescilla Mkhabela

I’m a full-stack software engineer focused on building and scaling production backend systems with Python/Django and TypeScript/NestJS, paired with React frontends. I bring a strong emphasis on API design, database architecture, and performance optimisation.

In my current role at Hiteknology Solutions (Remote), I engineered and optimised backend systems across three live products within a distributed Agile team. I debugged endpoints, improved application performance, and collaborated on clean, testable database schemas for secure, reliable data processing workflows.

One of my core production projects is an Opta Football Data Pipeline & Analytics Platform, where I architected an end-to-end pipeline that crawls, processes, and normalises enterprise sports metrics for 213,000+ matches. I also built a companion React dashboard to turn event datasets into actionable, real-time analytics.

I maintain and extend enterprise REST API systems (Dimax, Our FBI, Kenki Systems), reducing slow-query bottlenecks by improving schemas and lowering server latency. I’m comfortable working asynchronously across time zones, and I’m grounded in practical engineering through my backend development training at ALX Africa and WeThinkCode.
