At SMBC, I lead credit control for a USD 14.7 billion portfolio of approximately 510 counterparties, reviewing complex credit proposals, validating ratings, and assessing project finance, LBOs, M&A, and sponsor-backed transactions. I also initiated an AI-enabled framework to monitor borrowers’ interim financial performance and serve on the Credit Evaluation Committee.
Across Mashreq and Mizuho, I’ve strengthened credit policies, covenant monitoring, early-warning triggers, Basel reporting, portfolio stress reviews, and financing structures. I bring 15+ years of experience translating financial statements, cash-flow models, valuations, and macroeconomic and industry dynamics into rigorous, structured feedback for senior stakeholders; I also authored “Thinking Like a Credit Evaluator,” a training guide for junior analysts.
