What I'm looking for

I aim to dissect the molecular basis of rice immunity to root-knot nematodes using single-cell transcriptomics and CRISPR-based functional genomics, with the goal of engineering durable nematode resistance in cereal crops.

At Jawaharlal Nehru Agriculture University, I’m conducting whole-genome sequencing and comparative genomic analyses of fungal pathogens affecting pulse and oilseed crops. I’m also characterizing virulence factors and secondary metabolite-associated genes.

My doctoral research at Banaras Hindu University examined direct-seeded rice responses to Meloidogyne graminicola. I identified defense-associated gene networks through transcriptome analysis and profiled rice-root metabolites for resistance-associated biomarkers.

During my ICRISAT research collaboration, I worked on GWAS in chickpea to identify genomic regions associated with resistance to Pratylenchus thornei. I integrated phenotypic screening data with genomic datasets for marker-trait association analysis.

I’ve also taught Plant Nematology to M.Sc. students at Banaras Hindu University. My research interests include molecular plant pathology and functional genomics, with a future focus on single-cell transcriptomics and CRISPR-based approaches to rice immunity.
