What I'm looking for

I’m looking for a role where I can evaluate AI responses against clear rubrics, catch subtle reasoning and language issues, and apply Latin American context naturally. I value structured standards, thoughtful rationales, and consistent quality in a bilingual workflow.

I am a Costa Rican marine biologist with a strong interest in scientific research, environmental education, artificial intelligence, and the many ways in which knowledge can be applied to solve real-world problems. I am naturally curious and genuinely enjoy learning new things, asking questions, exploring unfamiliar subjects, and understanding how different systems work. Although my academic background is in marine biology, I have always been interested in developing skills across different fields and adapting what I learn to new challenges.

I am currently completing my licentiate research on applied research trends in macroalgae of potential interest for aquaculture development in Costa Rica. This project has allowed me to strengthen my experience in scientific literature review, bibliometric analysis, data organization, research methodology, quality control, and scientific writing. As part of the study, I developed detailed prompts and classification criteria to screen 6,681 scientific records, followed by manual review and validation of the results. I am also working with my coauthors on the resulting scientific manuscript. Through this experience, I have become especially attentive to accuracy, consistency, evidence, and the importance of clearly explaining how a conclusion was reached.

I have also developed experience evaluating AI-generated responses through projects, assessments, and practice tasks with Invisible Technologies. This work has involved following detailed instructions and rubrics, identifying problems in reasoning, language, tool use, and workflow execution, and writing structured rationales to support evaluation decisions. I enjoy this type of work because it combines analytical thinking, language, careful observation, and continuous learning.

In addition, I have worked in environmental education with Costa Rican and international students through Ecology Project International, FUNDECOR, and the Ruta de Museos program at Museo La Salle. These experiences taught me how to communicate complex ideas clearly, adapt to different audiences, coordinate with others, and remain attentive to people’s needs in both classroom and field settings.

I am a native Spanish speaker with C1-level English and experience using R, Microsoft Office, scientific databases, and AI-assisted research tools. I would describe myself as curious, analytical, responsible, adaptable, and open to feedback. I take my commitments seriously, but I also value empathy, good communication, and intellectual honesty. Above all, I am motivated by opportunities that allow me to keep learning, contribute useful work, and apply my abilities in new and meaningful contexts.
