Nicholas Hilbert
@nicholashilbert
I've been a full-stack dev for 10+ years and I build things on the side and runs a home server lab for fun.
What I'm looking for
I'm a senior software engineer based in St. Louis with 10+ years of experience across the full stack, having worked everywhere from early-stage startups to Boeing and Sandia National Laboratories. My background spans cloud architecture, geospatial mapping, security-sensitive environments, and building RESTful APIs and CI/CD pipelines that teams actually rely on.
Lately I've been focused on weaving AI-assisted development into my day-to-day work, including agentic workflows, MCP servers, and tools like Claude Code and AWS Bedrock. At 1904Labs I built a Microsoft Teams AI summarizer bot on AWS and have continued pushing that direction into my current role at Omni Federal.
Outside of work I run a home server lab and build side projects, usually somewhere in the AI tooling and developer productivity space. I'm the kind of engineer who picks things up independently and ships them, whether that's solo-maintaining a government timekeeper bot during a shutdown or reverse-engineering an FPGA board at a national lab.
