Nethul Liyanage

I’m a first-year undergraduate in Financial Mathematics and Applied Statistics at SLIIT, and I’m building a career at the intersection of finance, data science, and technology. I’m drawn to roles where I can turn quantitative thinking into practical insights.

During my 6-month internship at Commercial Bank of Ceylon, I worked in IT operations in a large-scale banking environment. I managed and maintained the IT asset inventory system by processing device gate passes and updating movement records across branch locations using Microsoft Excel.

I also supported an enterprise-wide OS migration project, assisting in the upgrade of Windows 10 workstations to Windows 11 across the organization. That experience strengthened my focus on system administration and operational reliability.

Alongside my studies, I’m developing statistical analysis and quantitative data analysis methods to support FinTech, banking analytics, and quantitative finance. I’m seeking internships and collaborative opportunities where I can contribute—and continue learning through real work, not just theory.
