As a qualified and experienced Teacher and Teaching Assistant, I am writing to forward my details for the Full-time Teaching Assistant and English- Turkish language translation position.
I was recently employed by AISB in Bucharest as a Secondary School Lift for two Year 7 students. It is a position I have enjoyed and feel that I am able to make a difference to young learners. As the 12-month contract ended and they have both been successfully integrated into mainstream classes, I am now looking for another TA position. Previously, I was employed by St.Leonard’s Academy in the UK as a Learning Support Assistant for Year 10 students with SEND (specifically ADHD, Autistic) and Learning Needs students. I was employed as a Teaching Assistant for Middle and High School students in the MADDF (Music, Art, Drama, Film) and Science departments at the Western Academy of Beijing. I qualified as a teacher from the Faculty of Education at Marmara University in Istanbul, but took the COBIS Diploma for International Teaching Assistants (DITA) in Stafford to transition to a TA position where my true passion and talents are best used.
I have been a TA in international schools in Turkey, Azerbaijan, and China. I have attempted to keep my skills up to date with regular training. I studied courses with the British Council and ECIS (Education Collaborative for International Schools) for a variety of Child Protection certificates. I have in-class experience working with international children with a range of additional learning circumstances, so I have experience with SEND (specifically ADHD) and EAL needs. As a Turkish national working in my second language of English, I have empathy for some of these needs. In Turkey, I was employed by the British International School of Istanbul for 6 years, which used an adapted National Curriculum, so I am familiar with these aspects of the British curriculum and generic aspects that can be applied to the MYP. I have worked with the International GCSE science curriculum and the IB program in my various positions.
