At Aston Medical School, I conducted translational molecular and cell biology research investigating KMT2D expression dynamics in cancer cells. I routinely used flow cytometry and maintained HCT116 cell lines using aseptic technique.

I also performed cell viability and colony formation assays, alongside western blotting, qPCR, DNA and RNA isolation, and protein extraction. I managed quantitative datasets and laboratory records, and shared findings through presentations and poster development.

At Aston University, I participated in a MEG neuroimaging experiment, assisting with participant preparation, electrode setup, and data recording. Supervised practicals on mTOR pathway dysregulation in Tuberous Sclerosis Complex gave me context on synaptic dysfunction and seizures.

For my final-year dissertation, I built a Python-based machine learning pipeline to detect epileptic seizures from rat hippocampal LFP data, earning 82%. I'm particularly interested in how glial and adaptive immune cells contribute to synaptic dysfunction in Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases, and in developing in vivo research skills.
