Hello! I’m Jason Marks.

I’m a dedicated early childhood educator with over 12 years of experience, including the past eight years as a kindergarten teacher. I believe deeply in creating classrooms where learning is joyful, developmentally appropriate, and every child feels a true sense of belonging.

I’m especially passionate about integrating technology into instruction in ways that enhance access, creativity, and connection. During the COVID-19 school closures, I took the lead on lesson planning and virtual instruction for over 60 kindergarten students in our district—ensuring content was age-appropriate, engaging, and inclusive. I also provided regular feedback and support to families and colleagues. My experience with a range of learning management systems has allowed me to make technology an effective, empowering part of everyday learning.

In the 2022–2023 school year, I was honored to be named the University of Vermont’s Most Outstanding Educator for my district. I’ve contributed to a number of leadership efforts, including service on our Local Standards Board, the Continuous Improvement Plan committee, and several hiring committees.

Beyond the classroom, I have a deep love for youth sports and community engagement. For the past two years, I’ve served as Recreation Director for my town while also coaching at multiple levels—including varsity girls’ soccer and pre-K/K soccer and basketball.

In my free time, I enjoy being with my family, working with my hands, and looking for opportunities to make a meaningful difference in my community.
