What I'm looking for

I want to advance as a research fellow in Social Research that can combine both quantitative and qualitative techniques to generate and analysed data in the field of medical sociology, public health and gender studies. Also, teaching courses in research methods and rural sociology while leading funded projects and contributing to community-focused monitoring and evaluation.

I am a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Sociology, Federal University Dutsin-Ma, building my academic career around evidence-led social research. My PhD, completed in 2025 at the University of Nigeria Nsukka, is grounded in “Sociocultural Influences on Access and Utilisation of Menstrual Products among Women in Rural Communities of Katsina State, Nigeria.”

I bring both classroom and administrative leadership to my work, having served in roles including Head of Department, Examination Officer, and several departmental board chair positions (PG Board, Board, Board of Examiners, A&PC). I also contribute actively to faculty and senate-level committees and have coordinated multiple departmental and research projects.

My research interests—Medical Sociology, Rural Health Inequality, and Gender Studies—are strengthened through funded Institutional Based Research (IBR) grants from TETFund, where I have served as Principal Investigator and Co-Researcher on topics ranging from menstrual hygiene and family planning to rural insecurity and community health perceptions. I also extend my expertise beyond academia as a Programme Consultant and capacity-building facilitator with Prime Youths and Women’s Empowerment Initiatives (PYWEI), supporting Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM), advocacy, and monitoring and evaluation.
