What I'm looking for

I’m looking for opportunities to gain practical experience in counseling, research, or community-based mental health settings, using active listening, evidence-based research, and supportive wellness programming to improve well-being.

I’m a motivated 3rd-year Psychology student with a strong foundation in human behaviour, research methods, and mental health principles. I’m passionate about applying psychological knowledge to improve individual and community well-being.

I’ve built hands-on research skills through coursework and a project on mental health help-seeking behaviour, investigating factors among Kenyan university students. I conducted survey research with 80+ participants, analyzed data using SPSS, and received a distinction for methodology rigor.

Through peer support volunteering, I provide peer-to-peer emotional support, facilitate monthly wellness sessions, and refer students with complex needs to professional counselors appropriately. I also help deliver mental health awareness initiatives, communicate in English and Swahili, and support group facilitation through empathy and cultural sensitivity.
