Sophy Obuya

I am a grounded and empathetic Bachelor of Science in Counselling Psychology graduate with hands-on hospital-based experience providing psychological support, intake assessments, and client engagement. I trained in ethical practice, active listening, documentation, and multidisciplinary teamwork within a clinical setting.

During my counselling psychology internship at Mater Misericordiae Hospital, I assisted licensed counselling psychologists in individual and group counselling, conducted client intake interviews, supported basic psychological assessments, maintained accurate client records, and provided psychoeducation to clients and caregivers.

I am passionate about mental health advocacy and applied counselling practice, committed to trauma-informed care, and eager to contribute my therapeutic communication, assessment support, and documentation skills to a clinical or community mental health team.
