At Cranfield University, I’ve pursued research in advanced composite materials, including processing and performance of composite reinforcement preforms. On the PRECARBI project, I investigated binder-coated carbon fibre tows and developed an automated robotic dry tow placement device.
My work has focused on through-thickness reinforcement, chiefly tufting, alongside cure kinetics and the mechanical, thermal, and electrical characterisation of composites. I contributed to the development of the THERMMAT electrothermal suite and co-supervised IRP projects for MSc students.
I’ve lectured on composites characterisation and reinforcement, represented Cranfield University at conferences and exhibitions, and contributed to project proposals and publications. I also enjoy amateur astronomy and have given talks on the cosmic distance scale and astrophotography.
